I loved overhearing my wife this morning watching Scott’s Bass Lessons as he spoke about the importance of keeping a practice log. She said she’s tried starting them before but never seems to keep up with them.
Later I loved seeing this evidence she is trying again … this time using the Violet Pentel EnerGel pen I picked up for her.
My wife is happy to play around with my fountain pens when I unbox a new one, but they are not the writing implements she actually wants to use on the daily; gel pens are a nice choice for their easy-gliding smoothness (nicer than stick-pen ballpoints) and more-waterproof (than fountain-pen) ink. This brand and variety is good because they are affordable while also being refillable in most, if not all, of their relatively-expansive color range.
While the body of these pens is not very durable or expensive-feeling, I enjoy them and their accessibility (a low price-point and availability “over-the-counter” in grocery stores, etc.) while still being sturdy enough to be reusable / refillable. It’s also nice to be able to buy something little in “her” color that she will actually use. And you know too that if you’re a pen-lover, you want your partners, housemates, co-workers and customers to have their OWN pens so they leave yours alone 😉. Not that my wife ever abuses or steals my fancy pens (she does not), but I know that’s not the case in everybody’s home/work situations.
Check out this post where I celebrate the color BROWN as dished-out by an EnerGel pen.
